ABOUT

"Slow Medicine is not a plan for getting ready to die; it is a plan for understanding, for caring, and for living well in the time that is left."
—From My Mother, Your Mother
What is slow medicine for elders?

Shaped by common sense and kindness, grounded in traditional medicine yet receptive to alternative therapies, Slow Medicine for Elders is a measured treatment of "less is more" that improves the quality of patients' extended late lives without bankrupting their families financially or emotionally.

Expensive state-of-the-art medical interventions do not necessarily deliver superior outcomes, says Dr. Dennis McCullough. Gentle, personal care often yields better results, not only for elders in late life, but for the families who love them.

This site is designed to help elders and the family and friends in their lives navigate the waters of caring for elders and living well in the years to come.
